How to set up OVHcloud SMTP
- OVH panel → Web Cloud → Emails → create the mailbox.
- App settings: host ssl0.ovh.net, port 465 SSL/TLS, username = full address, password = mailbox password.
Sending limits
- OVH hosted email caps sending per hour (about 200 per hour per mailbox on MX Plan) and per day; bulk mail is prohibited.
- OVH VPS and dedicated servers can use port 25 but new accounts are often restricted until verified; OVH IP ranges carry poor reputation on shared blocklists (UCEPROTECT), so a relay is usually better for application mail.
Things that catch people out
- Exchange mailboxes need ex.mail.ovh.net and the full address as username.
