Sending email from Vultr: outbound port 25 is blocked, relay on 587

How to set up Vultr SMTP

  1. Configure the app or Postfix to relay via smtp.queensmtp.com:587 with STARTTLS and your credentials.
  2. If you must run a mail server, set rDNS in the Vultr panel and request port 25 via support.

  • No mail service from Vultr.

Things that catch people out

  • Vultr IP ranges appear on some blocklists (UCEPROTECT); a relay with its own reputation avoids that.
